Paul Spinoglio founded Silvio’s Italiano. He is a local resident who also owns the popular JBN Cafe in Park Beach Plaza.
Paul’s long-held dream was to open Silvio’s Italiano. The venue pays tribute to Paul’s father, Silvio. After World War II, he was an Italian who came to Australia by boat in search of opportunity. Silvio began his career by cutting cane. He then became a restauranteur and publican. Paul’s dad taught him all the basics of hospitality. They worked together for many years on the Whitsunday islands, and travelled together.
Silvio’s Italiano is a tribute to the great man he was, as well as all of those things Paul and his dad enjoyed together, like good food, wine and conversation.
This is a unique location that has an Italian-style deli attached to a casual cafe with 160 seats. The cafe serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and has a wood-fired Vesuvio pizza oven. It will serve traditional Italian style pizzas using 100% Italian stoneground flour.
The bar will feature Italian beer, freshly made pasta, and cocktails and wines.
Silvio’s Italiano can be found in Park Beach Plaza on the northern side, opposite Westpac Bank. If you haven’t been to Park Beach Plaza in a while, you will be surprised at the transformation. The entrance has been completely redesigned with covered walkways and undercover parking. It is now the preferred entry for shoppers.
Silvio’s Italiano is looking forward to seeing you soon.
